The Element Of My Heart ~
She lays upon the fields of hopes
Upon the bed of fear
She carries the heaven's bouquet
And I smell it near
Upon the boat of time
She travels the ocean
Around my horizon
She is but my dear
She walks the fire of guilt
Upon the endless sky
She holds my fate
And makes me fly
Upon the lost wind
She's my guide
Around the clock of time
There she smiles
Oh shall I wait forever
More or whatsoever
Upon the night
She'll be my light
My lightning
Or my storm
The element of my heart
She'll never leave my sight

A Girl Like You
The thoughts left churning round n' round.
In my head, so safe and sound.
They're finally ready, I'll shout 'em to the world.
The thoughts inside, about a wonderful girl.
Who would have thought; this miracle that is you;
Could happen to me, it's too good to be true.
So many nights of dreamless slumber
Now overtaken with dreams of wonder.
I'm always wanting to blow your mind
The way you do, because you're mine.
But I can just be myself, finally.
I can be anything I want to be.
Those songs on the radio you always ignore.
The ones of love and passion galore.
They're quite clear to me, now that I'm aware
Of the things you do to me,

I love you.
I wondered if you could hear my heart in your sleep,
Recognize the smell of my skin in your dreams,
Touch my lips when you wake up,
And whisper in my ears while I sleep.
I pondered all that as you fell asleep to my heartbeat,
Breathing softly on my chest with one of your hands still feeling me.
And when I wake up it was your lips,
Or maybe it's all just a dream.
But when I declared "I love you",
I could feel your lips at my ear,
Whispering the sweet melody,
Of everything I ever wanted to hear.

My first poem posted here. It wasn't so difficult since I felt the emotions strongly in my heart, which helped make this come true.
The meaning, is based on all the emotions I am feeling tonight. I checked the internet to find a preview picture that would fit the most for it, and I came up with that girl looking in the sunset with all those birds. It has its own meaning for me, and it can be different from other perspectives.

I've read this poem and I must say I can feel the empathy and emotion within you. It is extremely well done and I would like to enter this into a contest if you would like me to?
